For three generations, the Skauruds have worked the land with a passion that stems from their respect for the land, quality workmanship and the communities where they live.

The story of Skaurud Grain Farms begins in 1962, when Clayton and Phyllis Skaurud purchased farmland in Waukon Township in Norman County, Minnesota.

What started as a family farm built on hard work, faith in the land, and long days in the field became the foundation for a multi-generation farming legacy.

In 1977, Clayton, Kelly, and Perry formally established the Skaurud Grain Farms partnership, creating a structure that would help guide the farm into the future. After Clayton and Phyllis retired in 1983, the operation continued to grow while maintaining the same commitment to responsible land stewardship and innovative crop production.

Family has always been at the heart of the farm. In 1992, Kelly’s wife, Vicki, and Perry’s wife, Kathleen, became partners, further strengthening the operation and helping guide the farm through years of growth and change.

Over the past decade, the next generation has stepped into leadership roles. Evan Skaurud and Matt Miller joined the partnership in 2012, followed by Cory Skaurud in 2018.

In 2021, Skaurud Grain Farms teamed up as a lead farm for Waukon Dairy, opening a new chapter that required growth and adaptation. That’s when Waukon Forage was established, focusing on annual forage production and custom harvesting to meet the needs of a local dairy.

Today, Skaurud Grain Farms remains rooted in the same principles that started it all—hard work, stewardship of the land, and a strong commitment to family and community. While the farm has grown over the years, rooted in the same principles that started it all remains at the heart of everything we do.
